4th Asia-Pacific Blasting Technology Symposium Held in Shenzhen

8th International Conference on Physical Problems of Rock Fracture Held in Shenzhen

     

The 4th Asia-Pacific Symposium on Blasting Technology and the 8th International Conference on Physical Problems of Rock Fracture were held in Shenzhen on November 17, 2014.Hosted by the China Association of Engineering Blasting, the conference aimed to provide a platform for experts from around the world to exchange advanced theories and technologies in rock blasting and related fields. Experts from the United States, Russia, Canada, Australia, Japan, India, China, and other countries attended the conference and shared insights into cutting-edge issues in blasting technology, providing valuable references for the development of blasting theories and technologies in China.

Professor Viktorov from the Russian Academy of Sciences presented research on the formation characteristics of fine rock particles generated during blasting. His study analyzed the size distribution and quantity of fine particles produced by rock blasting, providing theoretical support for reducing the crushing zone and improving explosive energy utilization.Researcher Kanai Nishino from Japan’s National Institute of Industrial Science and Technology presented a study on the relationship between shock waves and fragmentation effects in controlled blasting. Through experiments on reinforced concrete walls, the research provided important guidance for drilling design and protective measures in demolition blasting of reinforced concrete structures.

Professor McKenzie from Brisbane, Australia, studied the environmental impact control of blasting vibration and summarized human sensitivity to blasting vibration through statistical analysis. Korean expert Rui Changhai from KIGAM proposed vibration velocity and dominant frequency control standards for different types of high-rise structures, offering valuable references for vibration control in similar blasting projects.Researchers from Hongda Blasting in China presented a study on controlling the proportion of oversized and fragmented materials in high-intensity quarry blasting. The research analyzed the influence of linear charge density and burden distance on fragmentation results and summarized the relationship between blasting design parameters and fragmentation rates in different rock conditions.

During the conference, experts from various countries conducted in-depth discussions on industry topics including blasting safety, refined construction management, and environmental protection. The conference provided a valuable technical platform for domestic blasting professionals to broaden their perspectives and improve their theoretical knowledge.
