At 2:30 p.m. on May 25, 2009, upon the command of the chief director, the cofferdam of the 200,000-ton dock at Longshan Shipyard in Liuheng Town, Putuo District, Zhoushan City was successfully demolished by blasting. The cofferdam was 85 m in length, with an average depth of 15 m and a maximum depth of 19 m. As the first fully framed cofferdam structure of its kind in China, its complexity was evident.After the 200,000-ton dry dock at Longshan Shipyard was put into operation, the total capacity of dry docks on Liuheng Island exceeded 1.3 million tons, making it the township with the largest number of dry docks in Zhoushan City.
