Chengdu Hotel Successfully Demolished by Controlled Blasting
Built in 1984, Chengdu Hotel was the first four-star hotel in Southwest China and once served as a landmark building in Chengdu. The 13-story reinforced concrete shear wall structure was located in a densely populated urban area with complex surrounding conditions.
To ensure a safe and controlled demolition, our company developed a detailed blasting plan featuring blasting cut openings, directional collapse control, partial wall pre-demolition, staged initiation, and multiple safety protection measures. The plan was recognized by the expert review panel.
The demolition was successfully completed with more than 6,000 detonators used. Post-blast inspections confirmed that collapse direction, ground vibration, flyrock control, and protection of surrounding facilities all met the expected requirements. The project received recognition from the Chenghua District Government, Chengdu Public Security Bureau, and local residents.
