Successful First Blasting at Zhoushan Waidao Island Earthwork Project
The first blasting operation of the North Peninsula Site Preparation and Revetment Project of Guanghui Oil Depot on Waidao Island, Zhoushan, undertaken by our company, was successfully completed on January 10, 2013, marking the official commencement of the project.
The project involves a total blasting volume of approximately 1.86 million m³ with a construction period of 420 days. Due to the complex surrounding environment, including nearby oil pipelines, oil tank foundations, and waterways, strict blasting control measures were required.
For the initial blasting, our company adopted hole-by-hole initiation technology and strengthened stemming quality to effectively reduce vibration and flyrock impacts. The blasting involved 128 drilled holes, 3,600 kg of explosives, and 300 detonators, with an excavation volume of approximately 18,500 m³. Post-blast inspection confirmed that vibration, flyrock, and safety protection measures met the expected requirements, receiving recognition from the project owner.
