On March 26, 2021, our company organized a special emergency response drill for the handling of misfires during blasting operations at the project site of the Ecological Restoration Project for the Tuff Mine at Dawukou Quarry, Shangweitou Village, Donghua Subdistrict, Longyou County.

　　To implement the principle of “Safety First, Prevention-Oriented, and Comprehensive Management,” the drill was conducted to test the company’s and project team’s emergency response coordination mechanism and their ability to handle unexpected incidents. It also aimed to verify the procedures for misfire handling at blasting sites and improve the practical skills of personnel involved in misfire response. The exercise consisted of two simulated scenarios: open-pit blasting misfire handling and tunnel blasting misfire handling.

　　To enhance operational skills and improve training effectiveness, the drill invited blasting expert Chen Zhigang from the China Blasting Industry Association to provide commentary throughout the exercise. He also gave simultaneous explanations on the types of misfires, their causes, and the proper methods for misfire handling.

　　The drill consisted of three parts: an opening ceremony, an emergency response exercise, and a closing ceremony. After the completion of the drill, Chairman Zheng Siliang of the Quzhou Blasting Association, Political Commissar Wang of the Municipal Public Security Bureau’s Public Order Detachment, and Director Fu of the Longyou County Public Security Bureau provided comments on the exercise. They fully recognized that the drill had clear objectives, a scientific and well-organized process, effective command and coordination, and proper on-site response measures.

　　The success of this drill was made possible by the careful preparation and scientific planning carried out in advance, as well as the rapid response, coordinated efforts, and emergency handling capabilities of all participating teams. It was also made possible through the guidance and strong support of the Quzhou Blasting Industry Association, the active participation and assistance of colleagues across the civil explosives industry, and the great attention and support from public security bureaus in Quzhou’s counties and county-level cities.
