The 188th China Engineering Science and Technology Forum Held in Hefei

The 188th China Engineering Science and Technology Forum, titled “Key Scientific and Technological Issues in Explosive Synthesis of Nanodiamonds and Safe Rock Fragmentation,” was held at the Swan Lake Hotel in Hefei, Anhui Province. The forum was hosted by the Chinese Academy of Engineering, organized by the Division of Chemical, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and the China Association of Engineering Blasting, and co-organized by Anhui Jiangnan Chemical Industry Co., Ltd.

The China Engineering Science and Technology Forum aims to promote research on major strategic and frontier issues in engineering science and technology, enhance China’s innovation capabilities and management standards, and provide a platform for experts, especially young scientific and technological talents, to exchange ideas and showcase achievements. Since its establishment in 2000, the forum has been held 187 times nationwide, playing an important role in academic advancement and talent development.The 188th forum was attended by 13 academicians, 7 generals, and 131 experts. Participants conducted in-depth discussions and exchanges on topics including blasting theory, explosive synthesis of new materials, explosive composite technologies, key rock fragmentation technologies, blasting safety, and blasting。equipment.The forum officially opened on the morning of September 15. Academician Wang Xuguang presided over the opening session and introduced the background, organization, and agenda of the forum. Academician Gan Yong, Vice President of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, delivered a speech, recognizing the achievements made by China’s engineering blasting community and encouraging experts to strengthen academic exchanges, promote interdisciplinary cooperation, and advance technological development to serve national construction and development.

Following the opening ceremony, participants began a series of academic presentations. Over the two-day conference, 52 academic reports were delivered, covering the latest theories and technological achievements in explosive synthesis of nanodiamonds, explosive composite materials, and related fields.The forum concluded successfully on September 16. Through extensive discussions and exchanges, experts reached valuable conclusions on key issues in explosive composite technologies. The academic materials were later compiled and published in the Proceedings of the 188th China Engineering Science and Technology Forum.
