Carrying Forward the Jinggangshan Spirit and Inheriting the Red Gene
——A Record of Gaoneng Blasting Party Branch’s Trip to Jinggangshan
The Jinggangshan Spirit is a revolutionary spirit forged by countless revolutionary predecessors through struggles involving blood and sacrifice. In 1927, the troops led by Mao Zedong fought more than ten major and minor battles, successfully establishing the revolutionary base on Jinggangshan and beginning the great undertaking of creating the first revolutionary base area in China. This strategic shift, which was of vital importance to the revolutionary cause, laid the foundation for choosing the correct path of the Chinese revolution.
The establishment of the Jinggangshan Revolutionary Base Area was the result of integrating Marxism-Leninism with the specific realities of the Chinese revolution. It represented the collective wisdom of the Communist Party of China and the Chinese people, and stands as a historic milestone in the course of the Chinese revolution led by the Communist Party of China.
On June 30, 2017, to celebrate the 96th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, the company’s Party branch organized a three-day study and heritage tour themed “Carrying Forward the Jinggangshan Spirit and Passing on the Red Legacy.”
During the tour, Party members visited the former site of the Battle of Huangyangjie, the Red Army Mint, the Xiaojing Red Army Hospital, Chairman Mao’s former residence, the Jinggangshan Revolutionary Museum, and the Beishan Martyrs Cemetery. On this red revolutionary land, all Party members experienced Jinggangshan at close range, immersed themselves in its historical atmosphere, and gained a deeper understanding of the Jinggangshan Spirit.
The sound of cannon fire once echoed across Huangyangjie. Here, we recall how the Red Army soldiers fought fiercely against their enemies in life-and-death battles. Beneath the towering green mountains lie the remains of countless loyal revolutionary martyrs. Standing on this sacred ground, we experienced a profound spiritual baptism and reflected deeply on the revolutionary spirit.
Walking along the grain-carrying paths once traveled by Red Army soldiers and retracing their revolutionary journey, we gained a deeper appreciation of the firm conviction held by our predecessors that the Chinese revolution would ultimately succeed. Despite enduring hardships and difficult journeys, they remained true to their original aspirations. Following the footsteps of the Red Army, we moved forward slowly and solemnly, feeling the enduring strength of their faith and perseverance.
At the Jinggangshan Revolutionary Museum, the precious old photographs, weathered revolutionary relics, and vivid sculptures all tell the story of China’s revolutionary struggle, a history forged through the blood and sacrifice of revolutionary predecessors and countless unsung heroes.
Following the museum guide’s explanations, we came to understand that what we heard was not merely history, but also the revolutionary spirit of the Communist Party of China — a spirit rooted in lofty ideals and firm convictions — which deeply touched our hearts.
At the Jinggangshan Revolutionary Martyrs Monument, we paid tribute to the revolutionary martyrs with reverence, respect, and solemn hearts. Scenes of Red Army soldiers sacrificing their lives, shedding their blood, and fighting courageously against their enemies came vividly to mind. We deeply realized that it was their unwavering faith — a firm belief in their ideals — that supported them in moving forward fearlessly.
At Chairman Mao’s former residence, we received profound Party spirit education. Standing for a long time in front of the “Reading Stone” and the “Affection Tree,” we reflected on how Chairman Mao studied late into the night by candlelight under extremely difficult conditions. In the Octagonal Pavilion, he wrote a series of important works, including The Struggle in Jinggangshan, which guided the revolutionary path of the Communist Party of China and inspired future generations.
At the end of the journey, the group traveled to Nanchang and visited Tengwang Pavilion, where we admired the magnificent scenery described as “the autumn waters merge with the endless sky, and the evening glow flies together with the solitary wild geese.” Looking at the great landscapes of our country today, we deeply cherished the revolutionary achievements preserved through the arduous struggles of the Communist Party of China. We also gained a profound appreciation for the sacrifices and efforts made by generations of Communists, who carried forward the Jinggangshan Spirit of “pursuing ideals with firm commitment, exploring new paths based on seeking truth from facts, overcoming difficulties through hard work, and achieving victory by relying on the people” in contributing to the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
This Party branch themed activity, “Carrying Forward the Jinggangshan Spirit and Passing on the Red Legacy,” provided all Party members of the company with a valuable opportunity to review revolutionary history and pay tribute to the martyrs. During the activity, Party members enhanced mutual understanding, strengthened team cohesion, and gained inspiration in both thought and Party spirit, achieving a new level of ideological awareness.
In their future work and lives, all Party members of the company will continue to keep the Jinggangshan Spirit in mind, uphold a practical and truth-seeking approach, pursue innovation and progress, further demonstrate the exemplary role of Communist Party members, strive for the development of the company, and contribute to the building of a harmonious society.
