At 11:40 on July 10, 2024, under the supervision of the Public Security Brigade of Dongtou Branch, Wenzhou Public Security Bureau, GN Energetic Blasting safely disposed of a batch of wartime leftover artillery shells adopting the open-pit covered blasting method. This operation represented the first disposal mission after the company signed a strategic cooperation agreement on obsolete explosives disposal with Dongtou Branch Public Security Bureau.
With rapid social development and evolving public security governance, requirements for hazardous material disposal have become stricter. The management model is shifting from "centralized disposal after batch collection" to "immediate detection and rapid response". Faced with this new landscape, adhering to the principle of safety and efficiency, the company developed and implemented a testing and data monitoring program targeting two major adverse blasting impacts: flying debris and blasting vibration. Monitoring results indicated that flying debris was confined within a 40–50 metre radius around the blasting pit. The vibration velocity measured at the monitoring point 20 metres from the pit stood at merely 0.57 cm/s. The outcome further verified the reliability and technical superiority of the company’s Ministry-level construction method for obsolete explosives disposal via open-pit covered blasting, marking a successful completion of the inaugural disposal task under the strategic cooperation framework.
