Company Completes First Cross-Provincial Disposal of Obsolete Firearms and Ammunition

On October 23, 2020, at 2:27 p.m., with the final batch of armor-piercing incendiary rounds successfully destroyed and verified, our company completed the off-site disposal mission of more than 60,000 rounds of various types of ammunition entrusted by Shanghai Changjiang Shipping Co., Ltd. The operation was carried out under the supervision of the Public Order Corps of Shanghai Municipal Public Security Bureau, Shanghai Branch of the Yangtze River Shipping Public Security Bureau, Public Order Management Corps of Zhejiang Provincial Public Security Department, and Huzhou Public Security Detachment.

The ammunition scheduled for disposal was transported from the warehouse of the Jing’an District People’s Armed Forces Department in Shanghai at 5:00 a.m. on the same day. It was transported along the G50 Shanghai–Chongqing Expressway to the designated disposal site in Huzhou, Zhejiang Province, under armed escort throughout the journey, with police officers accompanying the transport. The disposal site was located in the Tuoshanwu Mining Area in Wuxing District, a location away from densely populated areas, with open surroundings and suitable conditions for safety control.For the disposal operation, the company adopted the “Small-Charge Combustion Chamber Disposal Method for Obsolete Firearms and Ammunition.” The process was carried out in strict accordance with relevant technical procedures, including controlling the amount of ammunition loaded into each chamber, precisely managing combustion duration, and carefully verifying the disposal results. After six hours of intensive operation, the disposal task was completed safely and thoroughly.

This obsolete firearms and ammunition disposal project was commissioned by Shanghai Changjiang Shipping Co., Ltd., approved and supervised by the Public Order Corps of Shanghai Municipal Public Security Bureau, and coordinated with the Public Order Management Corps of Zhejiang Provincial Public Security Department and the Huzhou Public Security Bureau Public Order Detachment. It was the first cross-provincial disposal operation of obsolete firearms and ammunition carried out through this coordinated mechanism. The entire disposal process was completed under the supervision and guidance of public security authorities from the three regions, demonstrating and further validating our company’s capabilities in cross-provincial firearms and ammunition disposal operations.
