Safe Destruction of 240,000 Rounds of Expired Ammunition
To eliminate safety hazards, ensure security for the G20 Summit, and jointly build a safe Hangzhou, our company was assigned by the Public Security Department of Zhejiang Province to destroy 240,000 rounds of obsolete military ammunition within a designated period.
Through careful preparation and safe operations, the three-day destruction mission was successfully completed on the afternoon of March 24, 2016. The operation was carried out under the supervision and guidance of the Public Security Department of Zhejiang Province, the Public Security Bureau of Hangzhou, the Scenic Area Branch, and relevant ammunition experts.A total of 241,220 rounds of obsolete ammunition were destroyed, including Type 64 pistol rounds, Type 51 rifle rounds, Type 56 machine rifle rounds, and other discarded ammunition. The destruction process mainly included on-site handover, inspection and dismantling, container loading, incineration, and inspection of residues and packaging materials. Public security officers were present to supervise each procedure, ensuring that every round was completely destroyed.
The incineration method adopted for the destruction of obsolete ammunition features advantages such as a small required site area, safe operation, high efficiency, and complete destruction. The method was highly recognized by leaders of the Public Security Department’s security administration division, and the destruction mission was successfully completed.
