In strict alignment with national guidelines on work‑safety governance, the Overall Plan for the 2023 Special Investigation and Rectification Campaign for Major Accident Hazards, and the company’s internal Work‑Safety Month action plan, the theme “Everyone prioritizes safety; everyone masters emergency‑response skills” guided comprehensive safety‑related activities rolled out by GN Energetic Blasting’s Qinghai Open‑Pit Gold Mine General‑Contracting Project Department. These company‑wide initiatives helped build a strong site‑wide culture valuing safety awareness.
An activity implementation plan was formulated and a leading group established to set clear objectives and priorities for tangible outcomes. A kick‑off mobilization meeting for Work‑Safety Month was held on June 1. During the event, all project staff took a safety oath and signed commitment documents to reinforce individual safety accountability.
Leveraging pre‑shift briefings and dedicated learning sessions, the project organized classroom‑style training, group discussions, safety‑hazard‑spotting exercises, safety‑warning video screenings and accident‑case reviews. These multi‑format activities helped personnel voluntarily adopt rule‑compliant work practices through learning and reflection, and prevent violations and accidents at source.
“Safety allows no compromise; accidents strike without warning.” Based on site‑specific conditions, emergency drills covering fire‑fighting, slope collapse response and mis‑fired‑blast handling were conducted. The drills improved staff emergency awareness and self‑rescue and mutual‑aid capabilities. Team members familiarized themselves with job‑related safety duties, evacuation routes and response protocols, and mastered the five‑step on‑site emergency protocol: Stop, Evacuate, Alert, Report, Assist.
Throughout the themed‑activity cycle, the project reviewed past experience and outlined future priorities. Safety performance will be continuously improved by addressing four core dimensions: manpower, machinery, environment and management.‑ Manpower: Sustained training to lift safety awareness and personnel competence.‑ Machinery: Closed‑loop full‑lifecycle equipment management with TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) strategies deployed.‑ Environment: Enhanced occupational protection for high‑altitude, cold‑climate working conditions to build safe operating surroundings.‑ Management: Continuous updating and refinement of management systems to strengthen intrinsic safety performance.
Under the banner of “Everyone prioritizes safety; everyone masters emergency‑response skills”, the Work‑Safety Month campaign helped embed the philosophy of “strengthening annual safety performance through monthly themed initiatives”. The project team will advance normalized, institutionalized work‑safety management, strive to set a benchmark for mine general‑contracting works, deliver value for the client, and underpin the company’s safe and stable operations.
